Sounds of UTM Lab In the Sounds of UTM lab, we study the production and perception of speech sounds . Our research questions explore how linguistic, cognitive, and social factors work together to shape our experience as speakers and listeners. Our lab is located at the University of Toronto Mississauga and directed by Jessamyn Schertz .

Alien Space Mission! An online study which aims to learn more about how people produce and understand speech. We are specifically focusing on young children (7.5-10 years old), an age group that is very under-represented speech research. During the study, your child will play a computer game that involves listening to and repeating sounds and words, and trying to tell the difference between different sounds. The game will take about 30 minutes, and can be done at home on a computer or mobile device.
Eligibility Criteria: Please email us with this information to verify your eligibility to participate: 1) Is your child currently between 7.5 and 10 years old? 2) Which language(s) did your child learn in the home (before they entered school)?
